September 30, 2018 - Bancroft's Castle

Being outside is very important to me. It feels natural and calming, exciting and inspiring all at once. I am fortunate enough to have a craft that really lets me draw from and work outdoors. I process most of my flowers outside (half of flower waste can go back to the earth — the other half recycling!) and even most of my designs if weather permits are done on a wooden workbench outside. I am REALLY LUCKY when I book a wedding in an outdoor venue, and get to design a special installation into the landscape. Last month I had the pleasure of breathing floral life into the stone ruins of Bancroft’s Castle, built in 1906 located across a field and atop at hill in Groton, Massachusetts.
